Inside the great state of Indiana the game of basketball is more than a game, it’s a way of life, it’s a religion. By that logic, that would make Conseco Fieldhouse the Vatican of Indiana. The new stadium has an “old” feeling about it. The seats are close to the court and the sightlines are among the best in the NBA and it has that throwback feel of stadiums like the Boston Garden or Chicago Stadium. It’s one of the most complimented stadiums in the United States. Indiana Pacers’ future Hall of Famer Reggie Miller described Conseco Fieldhouse as, “Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. Far beyond my expectations.”
Conseco Fieldhouse hosts a variety of different events. It is the backdrop for all the home games of the Pacers of the NBA, the Indianapolis Fever of the WNBA, the Indiana Firebirds of the AFL and the Indianapolis Ice of the IHL. All those teams call Conseco Fieldhouse home and absolutely love the stadium.
A number of big name events have also come through Conseco Fieldhouse like the 2002 FIBA World Basketball Championships and the 2004 FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships. A good number of big name artists have come and performed in the fieldhouse also. Pavarotti, Bill Cosby, Bruce Springsteen, The Boston Pops, John Mellencamp, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, The Dixie Chicks, N*Sync, Britney Spears, Crosby Stills, Nash & Young, Kid Rock and Disney On Ice are just a few of the acts that have come through Conseco Fieldhouse.
