FedEx Forum

Address: 200 South Third Memphis, TN
Home of: Memphis Grizzles (NBA), University of Memphis Tigers (NCAA)
Year Opened: September 2004
Capacity: 18,400

For the first time since moving into the General Motors Place in Vancouver in 1995 the Grizzlies will pack up their stuff and move into a new state of the art stadium. The new name of the stadium will be FedExForum and will wreak havoc on any spell check program it may come across. The FedExForum will be the host to all of the Grizzlies home games. Grizzlies’ officials are keeping their fingers crossed that the team can get back into the playoffs like they did in 2003 so they can have their first season in a new stadium successful.

The FedExForum won’t only be the home court of the Memphis Grizzlies; it will also be the stomping grounds of the University of Memphis Tigers basketball team. The Grizzlies, led by John Calipari, are looking to win a lot of games on their home court and are hoping that the change of venue will get them one step closer to winning a national championship.

FedExForum will also be the backdrop for a number of big time events. They will host everything from a Roy Jones Jr. boxing match to an Usher or Norah Jones concert.
