The Detroit Pistons play all of their home games in the National Basketball Association at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The stadium has played host to a number of great games and championships. In The Palace’s earliest season the Pistons won the Eastern Conference championship and lost in the NBA Finals. Then in the next two seasons the team won the Eastern Conference championship and also won back to back NBA championships and four of them were played there bring the total of NBA Finals games in The Palace up to seven. The Pistons also added another three games to the total this year when they beat the Lakers three straight times in The Palace and, for the first time in franchise history, clinched an NBA championship at home.

The Detroit Shock of the WNBA also play all of their home games at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Shock, who are led by former Pistons great Bill Laimbeer, won their first WNBA title in 2003 the season before the Pistons won their championship. The Palace of Auburn Hills is the home of champions.
