The Chicago Bulls play all of their games in the “House that Jordan Built.” It wasn’t until Michael Jordan and the rest of his gang started putting up all the championship banners in the rafters that owner Jerry Reinsdorf formed a partnership with Chicago Blackhawks owner William Wirtz to build their respective franchises a new arena to play in. The United Center is the largest arena in all of the United States. Before the stadium had been erected Michael Jordan had retired so the team decided to build a bronze statue of Jordan leaping over a number of people in his now famous Jordan pose, with one arm outstretched in front of him with a ball in his hand and both legs spread open. Jordan returned two seasons later despite the love he had for the old Chicago Stadium that he won his first three championships in. To make things all square Jordan and the rest of the Bulls won another three championships, but this time they did it while playing in the United Center.
The United Center is also the home of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. It also holds a number of concerts in the stadium and has featured headlining artists like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, and was also the host of the 1996 Democratic National Convention.
